SHARKFEST ARRIVAL INFO

 
Below is important infroamtion to help make your Sharkfest weekend as enjoyable as possible!
 

TOURNAMENT CHECK-IN

 

All teams must check-in at the registration desk at the arena of their first game. At check-in you will receive your team grab bags, tournament rules, and instructions for the A4A Player of Tournament awards that each team will give out.

 

Your team will also be required to turn in your OWHA roster document at check-in if:

- you have not already uploaded it to our Slicetime website

- your roster is not appearing on your team page on Slicetime, or

- there have been any changes to your roster since uploading it (i.e. players added or removed)

 

If you will have pick-up players who will participate with your team, you must turn in a completed and signed Pick-Up Player Consent Form at check-in.

SATURDAY TRAFFIC WARNING

The annual Barrie Santa Clause Parade will be held in the downtown area on Saturday afternoon/evening. Road closures will begin in the Lakeshore and Downtown area after 3:00pm, and will extend through the evening hours. While travel on Highway 400 should not be affected, travel through the downtown area will be difficult – please plan ahead.

GAMES MAY START EARLY!

 

If the schedule runs ahead at any arena, games may begin up to 20 minutes early. Your team must be prepared to begin every game at least 15 minutes before the posted start time. If the game is ready to begin, and your team is not on the ice, you could forfeit - don’t be late!

GAME SHEET LABELS

 

Game sheet labels will be provided for all preliminary games, for those teams that submitted their roster in advance. If your team roster is not appearing on your team page at https://sharkfest19.slicetime.com/ you must bring your own labels for every game.

 

Default game sheets will include your head coach, along with 1 trainer and 3 assistant coaches. If your team has a greater number of staff on the roster, the first trainer and first 3 assistant coaches alphabetically by last name will be used. If you wish to substitute other staff members, please bring your own game sheet labels.

 

All teams must bring enough game sheet labels for all playoff and consolation games. (3 sets of labels, for 3 games - as a minimum)

HOUSE LEAGUE JERSEY CONFLICTS

 

Where opponents have the same, or similar, coloured jerseys, the home team will be required to change their jerseys – unless the game includes a Barrie Sharks team, who will always change jerseys for any game in which there is a conflict. Alternate jerseys are available for use by any team – please discuss arrangements at the arena registration desk before your game.
